January 24th, 2018 The Best 5 Benjamin Moore Whites
As painting contractors, we see colors, lots and lots of colors. But we also get to see how freshly painted rooms look after they are put back together. And we get to see how each color “works” with many different styles. Believe or not, colors look, feel, and reflect lighting differently with different materials, fabrics, art work, and other design and architectural elements. In this article, however, we will be focusing on whites–more specifically, the best 5 Benjamin Moore Whites. Well, our top 5 favorite Benjamin Moore whites anyway.
If you thought that choosing a white to paint the interior of your home was going to be a walk in the park, think again. With thousands of Benjamin Moore whites to choose from alone, it is no surprise that choosing a white can quickly become a daunting task. In an attempt to save you from drowning in a sea of whites, we narrowed the list down to the following 5 Benjamin Moore whites.
Benjamin Moore OC-17 White Dove
Give me, give me, give me more! Literally, we CANNOT get enough of this timeless white. As a matter of a fact, it is not just us, designers and homeowners alike choose OC-17 White Dove time and time again. This all-time favorite is slightly warm. OC-17 White Dove has a very soft creamy undertone with a tiny, tiny pinch of gray. Adding a pinch of gray creates a subtle cool variation of another wise warm color hue.
This stunning Benjamin Moore white looks great on cabinets, trim, walls, and ceilings. Also, homeowners and designers who like monochromatic rooms love to use OC-17 White Dove because of how well it reflects and picks up shades and hues from different design elements.
Benjamin Moore OC-20 Decorators White
With a delicate, understated modern feel, OC-20 Decorators White is another most-loved Benjamin Moore white. If you are looking for a slightly cool white with an almost undetectable greenish-blueish undertone, this is your color! I say “almost undetectable” because Decorators White is a pretty crisp white.
I personally love how OC-20 Decorators White looks when combined with OC-65 Chantilly Lace. We actually did a beautiful very high-profile project using this combination, and it looks amazing! Follow the link bellow for a sample of a similar concept from Benjamin Moore.

Benjamin Moore OC-130 Cloud White
Out of all the most sought-after Benjamin Moore whites, OC-130 Cloud White, is the go-to choice if you are looking for a beautiful yet not overwhelming warm white. It is the choice homeowners and designers who are looking for a pretty white with a creamy undertone. More often then not, people who like warm–happy, comforting, and welcoming–hues, BUT run away from yellows, find Cloud White to be a match made in heaven (no pun intended).
OC-130 Cloud White is a super popular Benjamin Moore white. However, Benjamin Moore OC-117 Simply White, with its yellower undertone, is a bit more popular warm white in the New Orleans Metro area than OC-130 Cloud White. In fact, it was difficult to choose between these two beautiful warm whites. Hence, even tough we wanted to choose only 5 Benjamin Moore whites, I could not help but to mention it as well…
Benjamin Moore OC-65 Chantilly Lace
OC-65 Chantilly Lace is an exquisite cool Benjamin Moore white. If you are looking for a crisp, clean, modern touch, OC-65 Chantilly Lace will exceed your expectations with its dazzling blue undertone.
In fact, I LOVE how Chantilly Lace looks on Fine Paints Of Europe Hollandlac high-gloss–also, equally beautiful when it is hand-brushed with Benjamin Moore Satin Impervo.

Benjamin Moore OC-09 Ballet White (cut 50%)
We all know how challenging and almost misleading it can be to select a color from a color swatch. Well, this is definitely true for Benjamin Moore OC-09 Ballet White. Even the photo of the color does not do it any justice. We have actually painted an entire house with this warm white. It has a subtle creamy tan undertone, which gives it a stunning, classic, and sophisticated feel.
When we work on selecting colors for our customers, we love experimenting with percentages of a particular hue. That’s how we discovered that 50% of OC-09 Ballet White is a gorgeous variation of this color–you should give this one a try!
