December 17th, 2017 3 Signs That It Might Be Time To Repaint Your Interior Walls.

More often than not, homeowners ask us: How do I know when is it time to repaint my interior walls? We therefore put together a list of 3 signs that it might be time to repaint your interior walls as a guide to help you know when your walls are crying for some love.

Color fading and lost luster:

Color retention is probably the most common of the 3 signs that it might be time to repaint your interior walls. It is difficult to put a actual time frame on this one because it mainly depends on the quality of the paint that was previously applied.  Typically, inexpensive paint have low color retention properties, thus causing the paint to loose its color much quicker than premium quality paint.

The same principal applies to paint luster. Less expensive paint also looses its luster much, much faster than top quality paint. In short, if your wall color is fading away and it is loosing its luster, then it probably would be a good idea to repaint your interior walls.

Scuff marks or damage walls:

If you have young children or pets, or if you host a lot, then you probably have some noticeable scuff mark–mainly between 2′ and 4′ from the floor. Also, it is very common to have lots of finger and hand prints on your walls. This issue really depends on how much it bothers you. To some people, it is not that major of an issues. But if you find yourself avoiding entering a room because of your walls went from freshly and beautifully painted to a Jackson Pollock of scuff marks and finger and hand prints, then you might be ready to repaint your interior walls.  When it comes to damaged walls or paint peeling, however, that is definitely a sign that it is time to repaint your interior walls.

You are simply ready to change the color:

It is no secret that we live in a very fast-paced world. This is especially true when it comes to interior design and its ever-changing trends. Quite frankly, sometimes it is a bit challenging–even for us–to keep up with it. As soon as we become proficient with one style/trend, there is a brand new one right behind it to learn. Don’t get us wrong, we truly do love it! But if you are simply ready to change the overall feel of any space in your home, then changing your wall color is an absolutely perfect way to transform your home. And you should go for it!

One last thought:

The really good thing about repainting your walls is that it is relatively a hustle-free, quick, and inexpensive project, and the rewards are huge! There is something totally refreshing about repainting your walls–much like the exhilaration of spring cleaning. Put simply, repainting your walls re-energizes you, your family, and your home.
